Minister of Posts and Telecommunications Tarana Halim said, customers are suffering from mobile operators while registering SIM/RIM in biometric fingerprint methods. Customers talked about the issue of suffering to her.

Tarana Halim wrote on her Facebook status, “many of respected customers have complained on my verified Facebook page about the negligence of some mobile operators on this biometric (fingerprint) system of registering Sim/rim. We the Post and Telecommunications Department like to give 100% importance to a customer complaint. So any specifically complain about the Biometrics method to register older and new, all kinds of SIM/RIM (example: which Service Center, which operators, which place, Retailer) enter your experience and Complain here. We will represent it in front of all mobile phones CEO. We are calling people for this comment to ensure accountability of everyone.”

Note that, on December 16 last year biometric SIM /RIM register was launched. According to the BRTC rules, only mobile operators can register at a specific customer cares with national identity cards, driving license, birth certificate or passport. SIM registration through authorized distributors and retailers has to use the national identity card.
